Cadwell park track days 2011

Lincolnshire Bike Nights is proud to have set up track days and events in for 2011 in association with our friends over at Cadwell Park and Colin Willoughby Motorcycles. Here you will find information on up and coming events and track days at Cadwell Park.

LINCOLNSHIRE BIKE NIGHT, CRUISER NIGHT AT CADWELL PARK, WEDNESDAY AUGUST 3RD

Lincolnshire Bike Nights -cruiser night - cadwell park track day

Following the success of the previous events, Cadwell Park and Club MSV will be hosting the 2011 Cruiser track evening in conjunction with Lincolnshire Bike Nights.

This years LBN Cruiser night at Cadwell Park will be on August 3rd 2011. The cruises start at 7pm and 7.40pm. The event is still only £10 per bike and you will need to bring your licence (don’t forget).

This event is a unique opportunity to take your bike for a cruise around one of the country’s most spectacular circuits. For only £10, you’ll receive a number of limited pace laps with one of our experienced bike instructors leading the way

It’s a great way to get on track at a great price and enjoy your bike regardless of your track experience and at the end of the track sessions the bar will be open, going on into the evening – what better way to relax after your track time

Anyone that would rather watch the track action and meet with friends is welcome to come along and enjoy the evening in the usual LBN style. There will be plenty of space to park your bike – giving the perfect setting for an LBN meet. You can watch the on track action or choose to sit in the Club House bar – it’s up to you.

COLIN WILLOUGHBY MOTORCYCLES TRACK DAY AT CADWELL PARK, WEDNESDAY AUGUST 3RD

lbn_collin_willoughby_motorcycles_cadwell_park_track_day

Following the success of the previous events, Cadwell Park and Club MSV will be hosting The 2011 Lincolnshire Bike Night in association with Colin Willoughby Motorcycles

This event is designed exclusively for anyone with little or no track experience. You don’t need a sports bike to take part – all bikes are welcome and almost all are more than capable of being used.

Typically you will receive one 15 minute session followed by three 20 minute sessions of riding time.
Cadwell Park is a biker’s Mecca. The circuit is split up into two sections – the woodland part of the circuit and the club section. The Woodland section will give you a chance to practice you’re slower speed cornering whilst the Clubman part of the track has more run off area’s and is ideal for getting some speed up and practicing some faster cornering skills.

It’s a uniquely challenging and exciting circuit and definitely not one to be missed.

At all Novice Only days we have:

• Cones around the circuit to help you master the track effectively.
• Limited number of bikes on circuit.
• Experienced instructors on hand offering advice and one to one tuition.
• A mini-briefing during the evening on track riding techniques and body positioning

An additional classroom briefing on track riding techniques, body position on the bike and the circuit itself will mean that your trackday is not only great fun but informative as well.

We look forward to seeing you here!

A LITTLE ABOUT THE CADWELL PARK TRACK

Fondly nicknamed the ‘mini Nürburgring’, Cadwell Park is held closely in the heart of many motorsport fans. Located 10 miles north of Horncastle and five miles south of Louth, the Lincolnshire circuit is especially popular with bikers nationwide.

For the first time, Cadwell Park will be featuring two rounds of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship. The traditional August Bank Holiday weekend is preceded by the first meeting in May. This gives fans the chance to witness some of the world’s best riders tackling the infamous ‘Mountain’ section, where bikes frequently get airborne, twice in 2010.

Also new for 2010 is the first Modifed Live meeting to be held at the circuit on 1 August. Fans of Modified Cars in the North East will be able to experience the thrill of the Time Attack series around the Lincolnshire circuit for the first time.

As the circuit’s reputation continues to build, there are an increasing number of club car events taking place at the circuit. The 2.17 mile circuit will feature meetings from the Historic and Classic Sports Car Clubs, the British Automobile Racing Club, the MG Car Club and MSVR. The ever-popular Vintage Sports Car Festival will again return to the circuit in June, along with a vintage motorcycle event.

Set in the rolling Lincolnshire countryside, Cadwell Park was established in 1934. The length of the track, nicknamed the ‘mini Nurburgring’, almost doubled to 1.3 miles in 1953, when the ascendant 500cc motorcycle-engined Formula 3 class was invited to race in a traditional bike meeting. Reg Spreckley thus became the track’s first car race winner in his Cooper. Some 30,000 spectators were said to have watched the meeting.

The original track, with its fearsome and photogenic Mountain feature, grew to its current 2.25-mile layout in 1962 and hosted the British F3 series the following May. It has three configurations – the rarely used Woodlands circuit, the short Club circuit, and the splendid, daunting Full circuit.

These days, its car racing exploits are confined to club meetings but they are invariably crackers, the track’s swooping nature providing fantastic racing.

AT LONG LAST, THE LBN 2011 LISTS ARE COMPLETED!

Hi, You will be pleased to know that I have finally completed the 2011 Lincolnshire Bike Night lists.

There are a few new venues and we have lost a few. Due to costs at the Cadwell Park circuit the Colin Willoughby/Ride Right, Novice Track night and the cruise Cadwell will be held on the same evening, though not at the same time. There will be a link from the LBN site to Motorvision to book your places and for more information. Liam Haslem will be gracing the Bottle and Glass with his race set up. The Lancaster Bomber night is booked at the East Kirkby Aviation Center. The Aviation Center is open all day so that you can go along early, have a look round,  have a meal in the NAAFI and watch the bikes arrive.

The flyers will be ready to download in the next couple of days but I can reveal that on March 30th:

The Cruiser Night is at Arties Mill at Castlethorpe, near Brigg.

The Super Bike Night is at the new Granby at North Thoresby.

Sports Bike and Cruiser Bike Nights Dates

Hi Everyone, I know that you are all waiting for the 2011 lists to come out, I was hoping to get them done this weekend but even after spending 6 hours on the phone and emails a week last Tuesday to the venues, only a couple have replied, so until the venues get back to me I cannot launch the dates on March 1st as I had hoped, you would think that they would jump at the chance of having all the bike night custom and the advertising on the LBN website and Flyers.

On a sad note, one village pub told me that they have had to give their notice in, as the brewery had put the rent up to £500 a week which is more than the takings. So sadly we have lost that venue as well as the locals.

New Lincolnshire Bike Nights venue

Calling all LBN followers!

Arties-mill-pub-brigg As the nights are drawing in now, I have made arrangements with the new (biker friendly) owners of Arties Mill at Castlethorpe Corner in Brigg to have Lincolnshire Bike Nights on Wednesday 20th and Wednesday 27th October, (with plenty of hot food available) these will be, joint superbike and cruiser LBN meetings from 6pm onwards or whenever you want to arrive. Come on down for a natter…

British Summer time ends on Sunday 31st October so that will be it for the Lincolshire Bike Nights for this year, I would like to thank you for your support. I hope that you have had an enjoyable year and liked the venues of the LBN.

As you are all aware we have the new LBN website which will be updated as soon as the new listings are out, so please keep checking back from time to time for updates and motorcycle news.

If you have any venues that you think would be good for LBN in 2011 let me know please.
Also, if you have an event, ride out or bike rally, send me the flyer an we will add it to the website.

The 2011 LBN dates will be out for the 1st of March.

Cheers,
Graham
