This summer Medwyn Parry and Dougie Bancroft will be riding Triumph motorbikes to all of the 51 “Thankful Villages” in the United Kingdom. These are villages with no traditional war memorial because all who went off to fight in the Great War were lucky enough to return home. Many had been scarred physically and/or mentally by their horrific ordeal – 14 of these are “Double Thankful”, where they also returned from the Second World War.
The journey will start at Llanfihangel y Creuddyn, near Aberystwyth, at 8:00am on Saturday the 27th of July, and some 2,500 miles and 9 days later it will finish at the same point, at about 6:00pm on Sunday the 4th of August. As far as we know, nobody has visited all 51 in one journey. Visit the
website for details.
The ride will raise funds for the Royal British Legion – the target is £51,000.

Welcome to 2013 LBN, 24 years of Bike Nights, Have a look at the history for how it all started and Let us hope for a bit better weather this year.
You will see in the events that this year there is a combined LBN 2013 Poster. Download LBN 2013 poster This I hope will make it easier to find out where every one is and where the venues are and so be able to choose which one you wish to attend.
Due to popular demand from a few of the LBN Bikers, I have set up double/joint Sports and Cruiser Nights. I will see what the feed back is over the year as to whether I do the same next year the ’25th Anniversary of the LBN’.
If you have any suggestions for events let me know. You will also see there are a few new venues and some have been lost for various reasons but may return next year who knows?…
As always, many thanks to all of the venues that have helped me over the years.
I have been able to book the Lancaster Bomber Night, a great night and a big fund raiser to help keep the Aviation Centre and the Lancaster running. There is no where else in the World that you can see and hear a Lancaster at close range and for only £1 you can win a chance to go inside for the engine start up. This year is a special Year for the Lancaster Bombers as it is the Anniversary of the Lancasters Dam Busters Mission.
There is also a Motorcycle trip to the Dams, so be sure to come along to the event.
I hope you enjoy the venues and hope to get chance to meet up with you during the year.
Last but not least thanks to all the help and feedback from all of you and your support over the years.
All the best,
Graham
